My photographs should be about your day — the day isn't just about getting photographs. That's the thinking behind everything I do.

I've been photographing weddings across the North East  and across the UK for over fifteen years, and I still love it as much as the day I started. My approach is documentary at heart: I hang back, I watch, and I catch the moments as they actually happen — a nervous glance before the ceremony, hands held a little tighter, the laugh nobody could have planned. When there's time, I love using the venue itself — whether this be the natural light, architecture, chandeliers or elements unique to the venue including  the little corners nobody else notices — to create beautiful portraits.
